Soviet commander: U.S. faces similar Afghan fate

Gen. Victor Yermakov was a former commander of the Soviet Union’s 40th army in Afghanistan from May 1982 to November 1983. Gen. Victor Yermakov and the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979 and conqueared the country for nine years.  After the humiliating campaign the soviets had on holding down Marxist and losing 15,000 lives the soviets 100,000 army withdrawal from the war.Gen. Victor Yermakov said that this war is unwinnable.
